Dutch developer VSTEP, partners with Lighthouse for the acclaimed Ship Simulator series, has received the prestigious ‘Serious Gaming and Simulation for Better Safety' award from the Dutch department of Economic Affairs. As well as the Ship Simulator series, VSTEP creates virtual training simulators for emergency services applied with the Dutch Royal Navy, Shell, DSM and the fire department.
VSTEP developed a ‘Multidisciplinary Virtual Incidents Training'. In this project a realistic 3D model of the actual working environment is used to form the basis of a virtual training. Using game-like technology, people are able to move around and interact freely, experiencing life-like simulations as if they were actually there.
The business-case and strong communication of VSTEP inspired the jury to give VSTEP this award. Along with the prestige of winning, the developer received a significant contribution for optimizing their activities in the area of virtual training simulators for emergency services.
Congratulations guys!
